Kaiser Men's Fashion House - Germany

The Kaiser Fashion House in Freiburg is true to its ideals: This traditional address for fashion continues to raise its standard of quality. Blocher Blocher Partners was again tasked to modernize the men's fashion house in Freiburg from the basement to the third aboveground floor. It started with the premium fashion department on the ground floor. A back wall of high-quality herringbone parquet defines the space. Against the wall are specially designed shelving and furnishings of black steel framework, into which grey-toned glass is set. An eye-catcher is the seating group with an atmospheric, backlit urban scene in the background. This image can be easily changed in order to lend the space an entirely new atmosphere. Customers settle into comfortable designer chairs of quilted-leather, set upon an expressive, floral carpet created by artist Jan Kath. The message is clear: Here, everyone is royalty.

And the 240-square-metre sport fashion department on the ground floor proclaims: "You're at Kaiser." A sense of grandeur; quality down to the smallest detail. Natural stone tiles of limestone harmonize with concrete surfaces, black steel and natural elements. The new entryway focuses the customer's attention: The completely glassed-in ground floor façade lets in abundant daylight. On the back walls, horizontal wooden surfaces alternate with leather-covered niches, which can be covered with other materials for a completely new look. Wood and leather are found in various combinations in the central furnishings as recurring stylistic elements. Dressing rooms are equipped with hand-made wooden doors, blending style with privacy.
